Membership
View Your Account
Go to the Library Catalog. Click "My Account" and "Log In". Enter in your username or barcode and your password. Your password is the last four digits of your phone number, unless you have changed it. Your name will appear on the left-hand menu once you are logged in. Click "My Account" and choose "My Record".
Renew an Item
Items automatically renew the day before they are due unless there is a wait list on the item. You will be notified by email or text if the renewal was successful. From your account page, select "Items Out" on the left-hand menu. You can choose to renew all items or selected items. Make sure your renewal went through by checking the new due date. You can renew items two times unless there is a wait list on the item.
Reserve an Item
Search for the item you want through the catalog. Click on the "Request It!" button to the right. Click "Submit Request". If there is already a wait list for the item, it will ask you to verify that you still want to place the request. Click "Continue". You will be notified once the item is available for pick-up.
Get Email or Text Notifications for Holds & Due Dates
Once you are logged in, click "My Account" and "My Record" to update contact information and preferences. Through the dropdown menu you can update your preferences for notification.
Find out Information on Loan Periods, Fines & Payment
From your account page, select "Items Out". This page will show all materials you have checked out, the due date, and how many renewals remain. Movies may be borrowed for one week. Multiple disc series, like TV shows, may be checked out for three weeks. All other items may be borrowed for three weeks unless otherwise specified.
The library no longer charges fees on late materials. Any charges on your account due to lost or damaged materials will appear in the "Fines and Fees" page. The library accepts cash, check, and card payments.
Correct a Discrepancy on My Account
If you believe there are items on your account that you have already returned or never checked out, please contact the Accounts Desk in person or call 972-304-3658.
Change My Username or Password
From your accounts page, click on "My Record". To change your username or password, click on the dropdown menu for "Change Logon" and click "Save".

Each person wishing to borrow materials from the library must:
- Complete an online application form and agree to comply with the rules of the library.
- Present a valid photo ID and verification of current street address in person at the Library Accounts desk to verify the online application and receive the library card.
- Pay all fees.
- Make good any loss or damage to materials.
- Give immediate notice of change of address.
A parent/guardian must sign the library card application for minor children. If under the age of 18, a parent/guardian must be present. Anyone 18 and older must show proof of identification.
Coppell Residents
Anyone who lives or owns property in the City of Coppell may apply for a free library card. Property owners must show proof of residency as well as property ownership.
Cypress Waters
Cypress Waters is a 1,000-acre development located southeast of the City of Coppell. Cypress Waters is composed of many different neighborhoods and multi-tenant buildings including The Neighborhoods at The Sound and The District at Cypress Waters. All retail space and residences are within the boundaries of the City of Dallas. To be eligible for a free full membership at the Cozby Library, you must reside within the City limits of Coppell. South Haven
South Haven is a neighborhood located near E. Belt Line Rd. and S. Northlake Rd. in Irving, just south of the city limits of Coppell. All 105 residences are within the boundaries of the City of Irving. To be eligible for a free full membership at the Cozby Library, you must reside within the City limits of Coppell. Non-Residents
Non-residents will not be offered interlibrary loans.
Non-Resident Fee Cards
Non-residents may purchase a Cozby Library and Community Commons card for an annual, non-refundable fee of $40, which is valid for one year from the date of purchase. A six-month library card is also available for a non-refundable fee of $20, which is valid for six months from the date of purchase. We accept cash, debit/credit cards, personal checks, and money orders. All debit/credit card transactions will have a $2 nonrefundable processing fee.
Coppell Independent School District (CISD) Card
Non-resident children or adults, who attend or are employed by CISD schools, are homeschooled, or attend Coppell private/charter schools are eligible for a free, limited-use library card. CISD card holders may check out up to five items, which does not include DVDs/Blu-rays. Proof of residency as well as school enrollment or employment status are required to obtain a CISD library card.
Business Library Card
Non-residents who own a business or head an organization which is located in the Coppell city limits or is a member of the Coppell Chamber of Commerce are eligible for a free limited-access business card. Proof of business ownership must be presented. This proof may include present corporate/business license, current paid tax receipt, Coppell Chamber membership, tax ID or certificate of existence, etc. Business cards are subject to address verification annually. A limit of five books may be checked out.
TexShare Card
Non-residents may use a TexShare Card at the Library to check out five items at a time. Cards are issued by participating libraries within cities of residence. View more information on the TexShare Card Program (PDF).
