Below are the recertification and amendments to the Judge's Covid-19 Operating Plan. 

March 1, 2022:

Effective immediately, the Recertification Covid-19 Operating Plan for the Coppell Municipal Court No. 1 dated and approved on January 5, 2021 and readopted on August 25, 2021 is amended as follows:

 “Judges, court staff and all other individuals are not required to, but may, wear a mask or face covering in the courtroom.” 

August 25, 2021: 

The Recertification Covid-19 Operating Plan for the Coppell Municipal Court No. 1 dated and approved on January 5, 2021 is set to expire on September 1, 2021, pursuant to the Texas Supreme Court’s FORTIETH EMERGENCY ORDER REGARDING THE COVID-19 STATE OF DISASTER, unless readopted by the municipal court presiding judge prior to this date. 

Accordingly, the Recertification Covid-19 Operating Plan for the Coppell Municipal Court No. 1 dated and approved on January 5, 2021 is hereby readopted as of this date, including all amendments to the same, until further notice.

August 4, 2021: 

Effective immediately, the Recertification Covid-19 Operating Plan for the Coppell Municipal Court No. 1 dated and approved on January 5, 2021 is amended as follows:

 “When Dallas County is in the Covid-19 Red Zone Risk Level, dockets will be reviewed daily by the judge presiding based on the criteria contained in the Recertification Covid-19 Operating Plan to determine whether in-person proceedings will be allowed to be conducted.”

August 2, 2021: 

Effective immediately, the Recertification Covid-19 Operating Plan for the Coppell Municipal Court No. 1 dated and approved on January 5, 2021 is amended as follows:

“Judges and Court staff are required to wear a mask or similar facial covering when they are directly serving a customer in the court building or in the courtroom.  However, Judges and Court staff are encouraged but not required to wear a mask or similar facial covering when serving or interacting with someone at the court window or behind plexiglass in the courtroom if a defendant or customer is having a hard time hearing.  Judges and court staff are encouraged to wear a mask or similar facial cover when they are in the court building and are within 6 feet of another person and not at their desk. Judges and Court staff will continue to follow all other safety protocols.” 

This amendment supersedes the amendment regarding masks filed and emailed on Monday, May 21, 2021.

May 21, 2021: 

Effective immediately, the Recertification Covid-19 Operating Plan for the Coppell Municipal Court No. 1 dated and approved on January 5, 2021 is amended as follows:

 “Judges and Court staff are encouraged to wear a mask or similar facial covering when they are in the court building and directly serving a customer or are within 6 feet of another person and not at their desk.  Judges and Court staff will continue to follow all other safety protocols.”

 This amendment supersedes the amendment regarding masks filed and emailed on Monday, May 17, 2021.

May 17, 2021: 

Effective immediately, the Recertification Covid-19 Operating Plan for the Coppell Municipal Court No. 1 dated and approved on January 5, 2021 is amended as follows:

“Judges and Court staff are encouraged to wear a mask or similar facial covering when in the court building.  Judges and Court staff are required to wear a mask or similar facial covering when they are in the court building and directly serving a customer or are within 6 feet of another person and not at their desk.  Judges and Court staff will continue to follow all other safety protocols.”
